Cylinder with Paper Marver

This piece also uses the bench rollers
Three Gathers
Bubble is 2/3 the size of the second gather before the third gather.
Block, Blow, and Heat
Paper the bottom to Amphora shape, Jack the neck, Blow to round while papering the bottom. Straighten with the jacks.
Heat and hang to stretch.
Puff, Heat, Hang, Puff
Paper near the bottom and blow

Paper Marver (this is a piece of thick plywood about the size of a newspaper sheet. Several pages of paper are wet and layered on the wood. Roll a pipe across it to squeeze out water and air bubbles.)
This is a very fast turn on the paper marver. Partner is behind blowing when needed. push the piece forward when blowing needs to stop. Repeat three or four times to smooth

Roman Foot Bottom
Heat the bottom. Slightly deeper then just to flatten foot.
Taper the bottom.
Blow while pinching bottom. Blow. then flatten. it is quick.
blow and flatten and blow and flatten.


Bench Torch the neck to get ready for transfer
Score bottom of piece with scrap glass to find center and have something to aim at with punty
Attach the punty using the bench rollers to keep it even.

Adjust to straight.

Paper on neck and partner sophies
True up the bottom with paddle and paper sides straight
Tweeze the lip, paper straight
Jack the line, cool the line, hold and bonk
Heat
Jacks to open.
Sophie again to get shoulder to straight

Use the bench rollers to pick up speed to open the piece.
Paddle the lip
Bench torch the bottom and Build Up Heat
Cut punty with the shears, water drop and bonk
