Pumpkins

It is that time of year again. Pumpkins. Pumpkins everywhere. They are great fun to make. I have been focused on a small two gather pumpkin thus far.
Gather and shape a bit.
Gather and color.
Melt it in and then Marver just a bit to shape to a cone.
Heat good.
Drop down in the Optic Mold. I like the Steinert 12-8B for the Pumpkin

This gives a nice pattern and depth to the ridges.
Blow in the optic mold til you see the glass nearly fill the mold.
Just a bit of heat and Jack the Neck.
Get the neck down real tight. Blow to round it out.
Push in the bottom of the pumpkin so the jack line goes into the body of the piece just a bit.
Puff and flatten.
Knock off the pumpkin in the color pick up box (ours is on the floor).
Make about four pumpkins.
Then the stems. Two gathers and color.
Heat and optic mold. Heat just the tip.
Pick up the pumpkin from the hot box and get into the Glory Hole.
Heat til it moves.
At the knock off table pull up a bit. Cut the stem.
Pliers to pull up and wrap the stem around a metal bar. cut the end and torch smooth.
Into the annealher.
