Wine Glasses

The Seaborn's came in about a month ago and asked if we could make them some glasses. I finally got enough free time last night to give it a shot.

Three gathers with color on the second gather. Gold Ruby in this case. It is blown a little more then 2/3. The top is round while the base is slightly pointed from shaping with the hand pad. It is best to cut in the neck on the third gather.
Then it gets a half gather. Angle is key here, high angle gather up to the rounded curve. Heat right out of gather to get the line melted in better. Marver the piece at parallel angle working up to the base, a paddle on the end helps the shape. Heat. Jack the bottom of the piece starting right at the end of the bubble. Lean with the jacks a bit to start stretching the base stem and foot. Heat and lean, heat and lean. A paddle with firm pressure on the end and firm pressure with the jacks to form the foot.
Transfer. Use the sophie to puff open the body of the glass. Jacks on the inside and hand pad to shape the outside. Watch the heat. Too much heat and the top opens to much.
