terrariums

On Sunday Ray, Ed, and I were working on Terrariums Tie-rariums. We call them Tie-rariums because we hang them with an old neck tie. We came up with a new design for this spring. After a few times we got the hang of it and made some good looking pieces.

It is a three gather piece. Color on the second gather. It is blown and jacked. It has just a short neck so a second jack line pulls the neck. Blow some more into one of the blocks (5 inches) and let it set up. Heat a spot with the big hand torch (Thanks Jasen Johnsen for making it for us). It is a large circle of heat. Blow out the hole. Hit it fast with the tweezers and get it open. A quick heat and set the opening. Knock it off and torch the top.
